I picked up an Istick 30 from Fasttech and have been using it for a few days now. I love the size of it as well as how simple it is. In fact I dug it so much I went again and ordered the Istick 40 Tc for a measly 68 cents more and have it on it's way as well as a silicone sleeve for each of them. Now here's my question. What has been your experience with the Isticks? Have they lasted? I realize it's a cheap mod with a built in battery but have they held up for you?

I know a lot of people have had issues with them but both my 30 and 50 have been going strong since late January.
Of the two I prefer the 50w although it is considerably the bigger of the two.

The 30w has been my on-the-go for 3 months now because of its tiny size. The fire button get slightly wobbly but other than that it works great. I'm considering getting the 40w pretty soon to get on board the TC train although I wish it come with variable voltage as well.

I like the fact that the Istick40 is only a hair bigger than the 30. I'm mainly only using them for my tanks as I prefer to use my mechs for relaxing and dripping. I went with the 40 due to the TC which I want to fiddle around with and see if I get along. 15 watts is usually where I sit with my Kayfun though that may change with TC.

Yeah only use tanks with mine too. 50w isn't enough for me on a dripper, I like at least 60w+

First I do not have an Istick yet, but have followed the different reviewers. The iStick 40TC should according to the German reviewers be one very accurate device I enclose a screenshot. The reviewer said that is was one of the most accurate mods he had tested.

But you want to use it on TC and here the reviewer found out that the Istick is a tiny bit inaccurate, Test with 220 degree celsius showed that the highest temp measured on the coil was around 205/208 degree. Which is fine since you don't get any dryhits this way, the mod is just a little under the real value. And for the price it's just a fine mod.

Well this all seems pretty good news! To be honest, I am kind of shocked at how well they do for costing less than 1k Baht. They fit my size expectations and actually look pretty good in a silicone grip. I think I will order a couple more and then sit tight until a good clone of the Stratum AL comes out with the ability to TC with 316L.

istick mini (20w), battery gave out after about 5 months (within the 6 month fasttech warranty period). I plugged it in, would not go above 6% charge. Put it on the USB...would not fire. (I guess it needs to have a high level of charge on the battery in addition to USB charging.) Long story short, not really impressed with the istick and I wouldn't buy anymore.

After further reading in the 50w thread and both of your experiences, I had to evaluate my expectations. I've also had to really watch the use my current 30w is taking. Right now it has been needing a charge twice a day. This is why I wanted another to begin with. At my current usage I cannot expect it to last more than about 5 months or 300 cycles, the average life expectancy of an 18650. I can easily swap a battery to bring it back into service. The switches, board or a 510 going bad would be reason for me to toss and replace it.

Well if you need to toss them, check with me first as im rebuilding my 20 and 50 in new cases when I get my 3D printer up and running. I think both my 20 and 50 boards are still ok but until I strip them and change out parts I cant be sure.

I certainly will. These would help make a nice little custom mod!

I have a 20W and a 30W. The 20W is just a back up so never gets used, the 30W is never out of my hand.
The 30W the chrome has worn off the button and the black paint is getting very thin but as I said it gets a lot of use.
I usually kick start it around 5AM and it still going strong at 10PM, overnight charge then its all ready for another day.

    I would buy another one.
