Is Vaping legal now?

    So last November the excise department had started placing import tax on e-cigs which, to the best of my knowledge, was the law the police were busting people over i.e. the lack of tax on e-cigs. Does anyone know if this has now resolved all the issues we were facing?

    Since the end of 2014, import & sale of vape gear has been illegal. There is no tax category for it...Ministry of Commerce was [is] ready to proceed with creating a tax category but the Ministry of Health will not budge from its position that e-cigs are more harmful than real cigs so they remain illegal.

    They’re using the “no tax paid” law as before...but it’s really the BiB who are profiting as the fine for the Frenchwoman who got caught was all of ฿827 when she went to court (and was subsequently deported). Going rate for “instant” get-out-of-jail free card from the BiB ~฿40K! :(

    ok I can see how they could still get vendors under that law but as you are now legally allowed to import them and pay tax surely they will have to stop targeting users.

    This is not correct; there has been no change in the law...you are not legally allowed to import them as of today.
