    FWIW, Illumination Supply in the US has got Sony VTC5's available...and they ship to Thailand.

    I thought the VTC were discontinued since last year. Did Sony started the production again ?

    ^^^ @Tibo - there's conflicting information on this all over the web. I actually think they never stopped production...just told people this as a CYA measure and to stop getting continuous inquiries on availability. Illumination Supply is a very reputable US dealer...if they say they're real, I believe them. They've also just shown up on the Orbitronic website...another respected US battery supplier.

    I saw a couple of places advertising the VTC5, Pbusardo mentioned he had bought some to try out.
    Personally I haven't noticed much, if any difference between them and the 25r. Certainly not enough to ship some in from the US.
    I am OK for batteries anyway.

    I think the 25R and the HE4 are up there with the VTC5. I'll buy again what's available locally. I probably need to change my 1 year old VTC5 anyway.

    I am too, but I like the 30 amp continuous discharge rating of the VTC5. Interestingly, of all my mods, only the SX Mini (M) specifies a 30 amp battery (not that I ever get anywhere close to this in practice).

    I agree...but both are only rated for 20 amp continuous discharge.

    True. For my usage, even down to a .2ohms, they are performing great.

    Personally I think the 30A rating is a myth. Even the spec sheet from Sony there is no mention of 30A or being tested at 30A (whilst staying under 100c).
    They're certainly capable of 30a but then so are numerous other batteries.

    A rewrap and they'd be good to go!

    I am more concerned about the max amps dicharged. I think a 20amps is still safe unless you're doing above a 5/6 sec pull.
