1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

    Advice to new vapers.

If you are new to vaping and have bought your first set along with some juice are all excited about the changes that are happening or are about to happen due to your smoking cessation.

Great! Well done! Give yourself a pat on the back. Watch all of those pbusardo, todds reviews, itgetcha69 and a host of other informative videos about the vaping experience, but whatever you do, DO NOT take in all the marketing BS.

Here is one easy way to save you A LOT of time, money, stress and anxiety.

Every single vaper on this forum and many others like it have taken the same route that I have. And although there are exceptions, I think it’s fair to say that we’ve all gone through a long shopping list of mods, batteries, clearos, coils and accessories in the search of vaping nirvana.

Most of us, myself included still have our eye on the ‘perfect’ set up. The answer has been staring us in the face all this time and while talking to my three new friends last night at the vape meet, it became so clear.

Save money by buying yourself a Vapor shark or a Futura for $170 - $230 along with an original Kayfaun or Russian, learn how to make coils or get someone to make them for you and that’s is.

No more stress. You know have the perfect setup that isn’t going leak malfunction or disappoint.
If you want a vaping experience that is as close to smoking as possible – trouble free inhalation of nicotine - without all the hassle and the aforementioned frustrations, splash the cash vapers.

In hindsight, this is exactly what I would have done and this is what I would recommend to all newbies.

That's pretty steep for a beginner. I started with the iTaste vvvw V3.0 and an iClear 16 clearo. It has never failed me. Ever. My collection now has mechs, mods, clearos, and RDAs but the V3.0 with an iClear 16 is still my go-to set-up. In my opinion, the perfect set-up is what we want it to be.

I kinda agree with debate dude on this one. even after the terrific coiling ryan gave me, i find myself still vaping my aspire today more than the kayfun. i would say that this would be better for the person trying to step up into mods. for someone in that situation who had the funds, get a kayfun and vapeshark/futura or (sorry ryan) provari. my vamo suits my needs, but if i had the money i would much prefer one of the fore mentioned.

personally, i would still stay with my recommendation of a itaste 3.0 and aspire for anyone that wants to get into vaping. its hard for some of us to believe, but there are going to be people who dont take to vaping and decide to go cold turkey and simply stick with the analogs. yes they could resell the mods etc, but a smaller investment can get them, in my opinion, 90% of the experience.

p.s. they also would not need to learn coiling, watts vs volts, cotton vs wick etc. which can be over whelming for a newbie

yea, i got it from micky. he has a glassomizer as well now which is really tempting for me. i wouldnt need to worry about cracking.

i normally just replace out the coils every week or two. i have tried everything to get them back to usable but so far have been unsuccessful. i do plan to try to recoil them again in the near future.

    Enlighten me please?

What else would a vaper consider to be the 'best' if it isn't the most preferred vaping experience for their subjective taste, budget etc. ?

i have the standard CE5 aspire which is plastic, but i would prefer glass. fasttech does not have them or the replacement coils. micky sells them for 90 baht each which is a bit pricey but in my opinion worth it. in the states you can find a 5 pack for about $10, so if you know anyone coming over you could always ask them to bring you some coils. micky's price on the units themselves are at or below most USA sites.

I'm on a ProVari and Kayfun combo at the moment, trying new coils that are a huge improvement over the one I was using and am trying to source a tank atm that is "reported" to be better than the Kayfun, if only slightly.

Competition and progress will always, I hope, keep thjings moving forward. Unfortunately that changes the subjective "best" set up on a regular basis.

I tried a chimney coil, set it up picture perfect, and vaped on it for a day. I also let yourauntbob try it when he came over. It isn't bad, but a normal microcoil with cotton, the way PBusardo does it (and the way I do it) tastes slightly better, is less scratchy, and gives considerably more vapor. In my guesstimation, the chimney doesn't put the juice where you want it to be, which is right in the middle of the airflow. I was intrigued when I watched RipTripper do it, and after I was cursing him because I had to empty out the tank and build another coil.

I agree that a Kayfun and a Futura is probably the top setup these days, but like everyone else is saying I wouldn't set up someone just off cigarettes with one, especially one of you older gents with the bad eyesight. My friend was over here this evening, he was borrowing my MVP and Protank 2, and I sold him my SVD which he is loving. The only thing he has vaped so far is Dekang Vanilla Sky, so he has a long road ahead of him. I showed him what a Kayfun is all about, but its too much for him at this point. I would say anything with iTaste in the name and any Protank or Aspire is the best setup for someone just starting, but beyond that a Kayfun and Futura (or other DNA mod) for people beyond that. Anything else (Aqua, Flash, Dripper, Mech mod) is just to individual preference.

Got the PBusardo micro coil cotton and the Rip Tripper chimney coils set up at the moment along with a slight change to the standard micro coil in a third set uo and I have to say that as well as it has served me I am getting better results from the chimney and adapted micr coil set up. But that is at the moment, been playing all day , and this may cgange on the 2nd and third tries of the new ones, still VERY much learning. Time will tell if I change over completely.
