The most simple solution............... buy brasso. It is a kind of a paste in a tube which makes all brass, silver and gold things really shiny once again. People generally don't like using it on gold as it rubs off a little metal. That should be of no worry with brass. It is available in all big super markets. I bought mine from Villa.

I got some in Central Kad San Kaew if you ever get up to the big city Oil :)

    Looks like this

To stop it tarnishing so fast once it is shinier you'd need to coat it in something. Some oil or similar to seal it. I don't know what though because I have never done this.

Having looked at the photo above I decided it was time to brasso off the ugly patina. Far from perfect. Not sure if the rest needs more brasso or if the surface of the metal itself is mottled. Me like shiny though.

I didn't want tarnish/patina on my Nemesis Legion. As stated, Brass is excellent for removing the tarnish. For preventing the tarnish from recurring I recommend this stuff:

New Invisible Clear Car Paint Protection Film Vinyl Wrap Sticker Sheet 4 | eBay

I use it primarily to prevent scratches/nicks/dents on my mods, but the added benefit is to prevent brash from tarnishing.

First, cut the vinyl to approximate size of the mod segment being wrapped. Then wrap the mod, leaving overhang on one side. Then apply heat from a cigarette lighter. What this will do is shrink wrap the vinyl around the mod.

Then take a razorblade and trim the excess off along the edges.

With the vinyl on, the mod is scratchproof. In addition, you cannot tell that the vinyl is even on there unless you look really carefully. All of the mods pictured below are clear vinyl wrapped:

Panga, you need to do it 2 or 3 times the first time you do it after a long time. After that if done regularly, just once is enough

Just thought I'd mention. I saw it in 7/11 today. Wasn't looking for it but noticed it after reading this thread. 97b for a small can.

SB this is an excellent way to prevent tarnishing and protection of your vaping devices and you mods look fantastic by the way.

The link you provided states they don't ship to Thailand and I can't understand why. Over 20 years ago I built and flew radio control model gliders in Hawaii and we used a similar if not identical plastic shrink wrap to cover our models called Monokote. So if anyone has a problem getting this shrink wrap I'd advise looking up some RC Model Airplane sites. Monokote comes primarily opaque but it also comes in clear and many transparent colors as well. If you wanted to be creative you could change the color of your stainless silver mod to blue, green, red or yellow. How cool would that be?

I guess that using a cigarette lighter to shrink the wrap is okay if you're careful (and I'm sure you are) but with my experience working with this stuff, I would recommend a household iron or a hairdyer.

Hi Pattsvaper, thank you for the compliment. :)

Well on their ebay site they show using a heat gun, and as I don't have or want to buy a heatgun, I just use a ciggie lighter. I know about the light stuff that you use, but this automotive vinyl is real thick. I don't know if a hairdryer would even work (though I haven't tried). I figured that what is being wrapped is either stainless steel or brass, and neither should be affected/damaged by the heat from a cigarette lighter. And of course I am being careful just to melt it a little, and not catch the plastic on fire!

I'd trust this stuff over vinyl if you are so inclined to wrap your mod:
DIY Skin | Best Skin Ever

I've used this stuff on several phones, and it is all but indestructible. It is the same material I used to get when I was in the Marines from the helicopter squadrons, they put it on the leading edge of rotor blades to protect them from damage. You can scrape it against concrete without a scratch, which I have demonstrated to people hundreds of times. You apply by spraying it with water with a drop of soap in it and let it dry, it applies clear with a slightly textured finish although I believe they have a new finish now. It makes the device a little rubbery, so it won't fall out of your hands. Really good stuff, although I won't be putting it on any of my devices.
