1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

I just wonder how popular vaping in Thailand? I from Malaysia and found out that in Malaysia in every smoking area I can see at least a person is vaping. How bout Thailand? So far I don't see much, can say never see any Thai vape around.

I've seen a few Thai people vape in the smoking area of shopping malls. They are discrete and try to blend in with the other smokers.
I'm sure it's more prevalent in night time venues like clubs and bars, but I'm an old guy and don't frequent those places any more.

I'm sure some of the other more 'outgoing' members will have seen more activity of vaping at night among the locals, though.

In the 2 years that I've been vaping (dont think I would have even noticed before) I've seen maybe 6 or 7 Thai people vaping in public. I think vapers in general are mostly discreet about openly vaping in public here.

I dont think the 2 B&M shops in Bangkok would be in business if they didnt have a good Thai customer base. There is a Thai language forum on vaping and if you do a google search (using thai language) there are many Thai on-line vendors in the country.

There's been a few negative articles about vaping in the news, so there is a anti-vaping lobby here pushing to ban vaping. That and being Illegal here to import or sell, (not illegal to own) has stifled vaping from gaining popularity too fast, but I think it will continue to slowly get more popular as long as it isnt banned outright.

It's not trendy enough yet, didn't catch the hype like Malaysia did.

Mark my words : wait until a superstar gets photographed vaping and we will enter a whole new dimension.

As for now, it is quite underground. Discretion is the best way to describe vapers' attitude. Not afraid or ashamed, just discreet.

There is a bar/restaurant just down the road from me and they had their 2nd anniversary party the other night...first time ever I've seen vapers outnumber smokers...6 to 4 in our favour :very good:

A few years back I saw quite a few people vaping the Cigalike and E-Shisha in nightclubs and bars, but that didn't catch on. Same thing with the Ego stick type.

The ban on import and sales last year has kinda put a stigma on vaping as well in general and that is probably why vapers in Thailand tend to be more discreet about it. I've only start vaping since new year and only saw three other vapers so far.

Slightly off-topic a bit but does PAX counts as vaping? Because I saw much more people with PAX & PAX II this past half year than people who vape the e-cigarette.

For the local forum, the biggest one has about 10k+ members but there isn't much discussion going on or at least not about vaping. Most of the activity happens in the buy-sell-trade part.

I usually order my vaping stuffs online from local shops (unless I have something to do in SiamSq) and the pre-orders seem to get filled up reasonably quick in +/- a week on some items, so yeah there are local vapers out there : )

Interesting. They were using the PAX to vape tobacco? I assumed that type of device was used primarily for vaporizing weed.

After 2 weeks in Thailand, last monday I saw one other person vaping near khow san road but not thai. He was using a lemo-like rta and i couldn't see the device it was on. I was vaping on my standard gear (dani s extreme with erlkonigin). Yesterday evening a lady at Sukhumvit road vaping at a cig-a-like device. So far the only 2 people and not a single thai. Although some members of my wife's family were highly interested, for them it was very unknown. As long as everyone vapes at low profile it wil remain so. The more so as availability in b & m shops is almost non excisting due to all legal obstacles. At Sukhumvit's night market all I could find were some cheap ego devices and some Istick 30. The only liquid from Liqua. Those aren't convincing any new vapers. I think that the waiting is indeed for a superstar showing some vape.

I've never seen anyone with a PAX or PAX II over here but I just checked their website...they're not cheap at $200-280 apiece!

I've only seen less than ten people with it but that's still much more than the number of vapers I saw this year, sorry if my first post sounds like there are more of them. Saw a few people with it in bars and restaurants and a few more when I went on vacation. The design is pretty distinctive so I'm pretty certain that's what they were. May be there are local vendor who sells them at cheaper price but the only one I found is Asiavape and their price isn't cheap either.
