I'm pretty psyched about getting back to Malaysia and to seeing my Homies at Vape Kirin. They've got the VT 200s in stock and have one set aside for me to play with upon my return. 200w quad-coil dripping doesn't excited me, to be perfectly honest, but all day - no battery changing at 375°/20-ish joules does. Been chatting it up with Scratchy over this, along with Ti builds and I'm stoked. This article confirms Scratchy's thoughts regarding battery life in my settings/usage profile, so there might be a VT40 coming up for sale soon; used, but in excellent condition. Nobody's gonna get my SX Mini M until YiHi comes out with a VT200-killer, which is sure to happen, without that stupid looking battery extension tube (Yikes) hopefully.

Sold my IPV D2 to a wonderful guy who owns and runs one of Chiang Mai's best cafes. He and his wife, Mei Mei, who's family own a portion of a mountain somewhere 3 hours away, grows a particular species of coffee bean indigenous to Thailand. Coffee Time is the place, and there's no shortage of yummy treats to enjoy along with your java-jolt and fav vape. They have a bean roaster in house and Alec, as with all things, is a devout perfectionist. So you can be assured of a very high quality and unique cuppa joe. Vape friendly (obviously) as Alec had some (yawn) uh... mods to begin with anyway.

We had an in-depth one-on-one building class yesterday and it was fabulous. He built a spot-on coil on his first try, showed him some of the finer points of precisely wicking the TF-R1 on the TFV4 for maximum happiness without leaks and it looked like he'd been doing it for ever by the time we had finished. Nice, indeed...

I have owned the vt200 for about 3 wk. now and I love the mod it gives a great vape the best of all my mods,(11) however the battery life isn't good. that said I haven't done the extensive program (24 hr) on the evolve site only the preliminary setting.I'm hoping the more extensive download will improve the battery life

What is the extensive program? Do you mean the battery tests? I looked into that and it involved hooking up equipment and stuff that I couldn't be bothered to do. BTW, I did do the mod resistance check on my DNA 200 mod using a thick gauged small piece of wire shorting a good quality RDA to improve temp accuracy even more than its already excellent stock accuracy. Easy to do.

From what I understand, HCigar did not program the early models of the VT200 with the correct battery capacity to show up in the Escribe software so it misleadingly had people thinking the battery life was worse than it really is. The battery meter would show lower than where it was really at. I would expect that if you vape at 50 or less watts it would basically get you through an entire day and into evening, that is unless you chain vape or vape heavily. Lots of posts at ECF regarding the correct battery setting value. Cannot recall what it is right now.

Hi Scratchy, from what I understand there's a couple of battery settings on the evolve software to download one where your unit is hooked up for 24 hr.if i'm not mistaken.I plan on doing this soon at a friends as windows won't download on a tablet which is all I own at the moment.I hope this is the case as my battery life is crap right now.Other than this issue I love this mod,the array of features is mind blowing. Thanks for the info.

Think It is set at 9wh. You have to adjust the value to 14.43wh to get better life out of the lipo battery.

Well, it's only been three days, but the guys at Vape Kirin were out of stock on the Hcigar VT200. So, being an impulsive, I bought a VTbox200. Surprisingly light, admittedly not as sexy looking as the Hcigar VT200, BUT... Just as Scratchy told me, with my vaping settings profile and heavy hitting, one day's constant use and I'm still showing half a charge on my battery indicator!!! Added to this was the acquisition of three new Smok TF-R2 decks. Yes indeedy - my dual-coiled R1's were a a nice upgrade to the single strand, 9 coil single build with Ni200 on the R1's @ 2.5mm. But the R2's? Golly... they're sweet. Still running at 26 watts/400°F, but the way the R2 is designed, the pull is more open than the R1 and so silky smooth on the inhale. And, as with the VT40, the locking feature on the VTbox power setting is a thing of pocketing-proof beauty. They only had white and the garish logos are aesthetically unappealing, so when I get to Kota Bharu, I'll completely disassemble the unit and take it to a paint shop and have the entire case sanded down painted in piano black lacquer.

Now, VapnFagan wasn't too impressed with the overall build quality on the VTbox200. He had reviewed the v1 and it definitely had some issues as was made quite clear. He re-reviewed v2 and shown that they did listen to the feedback and revised some things. He did make a portion of the review about the improvement to the magnetic closure on the battery cover. My unit doesn't have that. My unit came with the case assembled with 4 allen head screws securing the side covers instead. So, once back in KB, I'll disassemble the unit and see if they've re-worked the innards as well, giving less fiddle-factor to battery replacement, as was another point of contention with VapnFagan's detailed overview and also look to see if they've does a better job with the isolation of the board from the battery compartment, another of his none-too-pleased comparisons to the Hcigar VT200, which uses an aluminum divider plate, secured with two screws.

As with the VT40, the firing button is buttery smooth. Almost a little too smooth, IMHO but it's an easy re-train of the motor skills to fire it easily. The firing button surrounding ring is not loose at all as was the case with VapnFagan's review. It's, overall, a solid unit with no rattles, nice radii on the casing edges/corners all the way around, and again, given the powerhouse capacity, it's light. Lighter than my SX Mini M and with potentially two day mojo.

Speaking of the Mini and YiHi: They wrote back to me concerning my question about an SX-design 200 watt board/unit and they very politely thanked me for my informative email and interest in their upcoming products and said that they would get back to me on their plans for a 200 joules device.

These are indeed interesting and exciting times. I'm still in the market for a small unit for airport and bus travel. They had some sweet little mods at the shop, but I was too focused on my shooting for their website and FB to notice which was which. Might have to roll out there one more time to have a look-see. Gotta run over to Chow Kit and Plaza GM today for some po' boy accessories for me and my friends in KB, so I'll look around there today as well.

The VT40 is going to go up for sale, but nobody's getting my Mini M. Functionality-wise, it way out-classes the DNA boards, again IMHO. Performance-wise? They both put on some serious whoop-ass :) We like that!

Hahaaa! I feel you, brother! If it works, don't fix it. :) Too lazy and I don't do WinDoze. Period.

That was VapnFagan's "big deal" with using the Escribe app. The default setting was, in fact, at 9w and needed to be bumped up, like you said. Correct.

Take a look at the IPV D2 (if you haven't already). Its form factor is perfect for this IMO. About the same size as the VS DNA with a Yihi chipset, replaceable battery & TL/TC (if you're into that ;)). There have been issues with the finish on some units but that's easily sorted.

    Hey SD,

I had an IPV D2 and sold it to Alec (who you are about to meet) along with a TFV4 and an R1 deck. I just came back from my vape shop and looked all the small mods and their bitty RBA's and couldn't bring myself to getting into another set of tanks, decks, mech mods, yada, yada, yada...

So... I'm with ya, brother! Another D2. Happy, happy, happy and I love the YiHi lineage anyway. But I have to admit, the DNA200 board has a lot more chutzpah than the DNA40 and it makes a BIG difference as compared to the VT40, which is also nice. Oh yes: On one overnight charge, my VTbox200 vaped non-stop using an R2 deck with 2 28g, Ni200 2.5mm 9-wrap coils, from 10:00am yesterday until 5:20pm today. True love. Yup! Then switched over to my back up; the SX. Life's hard, ain't it?

Maybe I'll pick up a Goblin Mini for the D2 travel rig once I get back down to Kota Bharu. My friend uses one and I've tried it and the atty works very nicely. Tried my best to find some Ti wire to play with, but nobody I saw today carried it. Uh, Fasttech? Hello?

And, I met couple of guys who are really into the vaping business here in KL. One guy's cousin is a commercial juice-brewer and Malaysia has plenty of them. And with that, I told them about this board and gave them the URL. They have a vaping club here in KL, so along with my offer of being a KL vaping tour guide to you folks, maybe a connection with these guys will be fun as well as helpful here too. I'll keep y'all posted on this one.

I love my life... thanks to all of you for your contributions to this declaration as well... shit if I couldn't make CM on the 7th... oh well, maybe next time with enough advanced notice ;-(

Whoops; were you speaking to me? (I have the VTbox200). None so far, I'm glad to say. I've only had the unit for two days and doing its second charge cycle right now. I got a rectangular pencil eraser and cutoff slivers that I can use to clean the pin in the mods and use the lager part to clean the pins on my decks, bases, heat sinks, batteries and covers. If any problems come up, I'll be sure to mention them here on this thread, along with a report on what it looks like inside on my version of the VTbox200 which is better assembled than the v2 unit reviewed by VapnFagan (wrote to him about this as well).

Oh boy; looky what I found: A LiPo charger and extra batteries for the 200w beasties. Although, the new iPad charger got my VTbox done in about 4 hours. Apple also confirms safe use on the iPad charger for the iPhone as well, given that minuscule little thing that comes with the 6's. Anybody ever run into issues charging their batteries in the mod via USB? YiHi gives a one year warrantee on their mods but only 3 months on the USB port and very clearly suggests not charging the batteries in-mod. Thoughts on this? Makes sense to me as batteries do mess up ever once in a while and I'd hate to fry a board unnecessarily. Thanks!
