1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

Yep saw it the other day...
The main reason was the usage of Hana's Logo on some of the first clones to hit America, so that one vendor got hit....
As long as the clone makers do logo free clones all will be ok for vendors in say the USA or the UK..

Possibly. They could always sell authentics though, provided they can source them :D

I agree Rick but authentic gear is already expensive and I don't think the profit margin for them is big enough. I mean imagine if we lived over in the states or UK. We would just buy them online and save us the trip to the shop.
But clones they have to wait ages to receive them from fasttech. An atty for 10$ I wouldn't mind paying 20$ for next day delivery.

I'm not trying to promote the cloners just the way business works.

Brick and morters that sell clones with obvious trademark infringement I have no pity for, they are greedy and deserve what they get. Wait until some of these mod makers start getting approved utility patents for their work. Then you will see the clone market dry up in the states and anywhere else the patent is enforceable. They will be able to have law enforcement physically confiscate product at the ports, in warehouses and in shops, and the fines will be huge.

@Talen I'm not asking for pity for them I know they are crooks myself. When I visited a B&M in KL I noticed all the mods and juices had a 33% increase in price compared to the manufacturer.

But look at Louis Vuitton or Chanel. How many copy's are there in those brands. Yet if the person has got money they will just buy the original no question asked. But if the person is not so rich and still wants the same pattern they he can only get the copy.

There's plenty of decent Chinese authentics being released. Take Cvapor for example. Pretty sure they only sell authentic Chinese gear. OK it's mainly aimed at newer vapers and people that vape at lower wattages but there is an increasing amount of stuff being released for those of us that vape at higher wattages.
As far as mods go there are plenty of good quality authentics to be had from China. Atomizers, not so much but I don't think it will be long before that changes. It's only been a few months since the Atlantis arrived and now look at them.

I imagine that selling authentic gear drastically reduces the amount of customer service issues a company would have unless of course they check every clone atomizer upon receiving them.

The whole law suit wasn't to do with it being a clone so much but to do with it having the Hana Logo on it.

I think clones and authentic are really two different markets for vapers, even more if we are talking about a regulated device.

Most clones are atty, RTA or tanks which has no technology inside whatsoever. It is impossible to patent protect because the cost of the initial product is way too low and the image of the brand is for a mass market.

Which US company would fill a lawsuit on a chinese clones lost in the surbubs of Shenzen ? How much does he have to get from it and will it really affect his image in a positive way, draw more customer to buy his product ? I don't think so.

Vuitton, Chanel or Rolex are the most copied brand in the world and yet perfectly wealthy. They only track down the fakes to protect the image of their original customers. They couldn't care less about the fakes bags sold in Chatuchak market because their targeted customers are well aware where to buy a real bag or watch. Someone buying a fake Chanel is not a Chanel customer anyway so it is not a loss for the company.

I believe in the same way that company can clone the VaporShark, it won't make a difference. If you want a cheap DNA40, you can find it without buying a fake VS. Those who want the VS will buy the VS.

Hana did a good job on this lawsuit but I personally think while it is good for their image, the fake manufacturers won't even feel it at all.
