Found a new use for my wife's nail polish

I already have enough ocd issues with greasy finger prints and juice..... I can't imagine how bad I'd be freaking out with lipstick on my drip tip!

I quess Im not alone in thinking a little OCD is normal for us western males then, mine seems to get worse with age lol.

 

I started by polishing out the engraving with Mothers Metal Polish and a q-tip. Then I dewaxed it as best I could with dish soap. I then carefully filled the cavities with about three coats of sparkly green nail polish. I let that cure over night and then threaded a 510 to 510 adapter into the mod and chucked it into a fully charged hand drill. I spun the mod on high and proceeded through a couple grits of sandpaper, a couple grades of scotchbright pads and finally Mothers Polish.

I will usually use this method to keep my mods polished and even change the look from day to day. Scotchbrite pads give a nice brushed finish that don't show fingerprints and polishing is easy by running up through the grits to a polish. I even flip the 510 adaptor over to thread in atomizers and polish them the same way. I have an old 510 cartomizer I use for finishing drip tips to my liking.

 

Funny. Recently also threaded an adapter onto a mod, chucked it on a drill and let her whirl... Works great. It is only the small amount of time between conceiving the idea and actually doing it that is worrisome. You are prone to thinking that something has just got to go horribly wrong somehow that will be obvious only after your mod is half sticking out of the wall and you are missing a few teeth. But, nope! All you get is a shiny mod in the end. (maybe at worst a bit of splattered polish to clean up).
