Tempted to buy one at Fasttech, but ...

There is a mention on the Fasttech Page:
Please note: The security code sticker that is used to identify if the product is authentic from Joyetech was removed by FastTech in purpose.

    Now what? What purpose?

Also, most colors seem to sell at 52$ (Box only, I will keep my beloved and trusted Nautilus Minis, not interested in studies in applied metallurgy), but the steel version sells for 38.43.
And here I saw one or two reviews mentioning the screen being different than other models? Fake? Makes me worry ...

On another note: Anyone knows a smallish VW Box Mod that can be attached to an worn overhead with a Lanyard? Be it with a sleeve or better still without, as I can't stand the esthetics of these Plastic sleeves ...

    Use the code: MAP

The warranty from FT is undoubtedly better than the warranty from Joyetech.

Thanks. Placed my order. The code MAP did not do anything, but XMAS discounted 10%.
And it was nice and painless to be able to pay with Bitcoin.

iStick 40W has small Lanyard hole on the top and may be CoolFire IV might work as well.

A note added below the vid...

    NOTE:

You can, in a way, adjust the pre-heat on this, but I'm not sure I agree with it's implementation. They say, "The maximum INITIAL wattage can be adjusted in VT mode". In practice, these values need to be separate. One value for pre-heat, one value for the maximum wattage applied to the coil to maintain the temp. They don't work together. Because if it's JUST the initial wattage I'm adjusting, I should be able to set it to 1watt, there would be no preheat, but it would still come up to temp which it does not. So that wattage adjustment in TC not only controls the pre-heat, but also the max watts applied to maintain temp. Adjusting down to around 55 watts did smooth things out for me. This would have been interesting to explore in this video had I known they did things a little different from the rest and I didn't have to adjust the wattage when in temp control in ONE DAMN DIRECTION (LOL). Still think they need to be separate values though. :)

For SS TC, it's tuned for 304 SS.

They remove the code sticker because they would not be allowed to sell it that cheap otherwise, the difference on the screen layout comes from the firmware update.

As a general rule when FT list an item as authentic it is indeed the real deal.

maybe try a different USB port / different cable. Pretty hard to give you a definitive answer since I don't know the hardware you are using.

Yeah, maybe a different USB port. If no go, then reboot PC and try again
