Hello guys, i have a problem with few of my dripers. Im used in to the Zenith v2, and the brass monkey. Both clones. When i drip, the cotton gets a brown colour. Do you guys think is for the Kanthal? Or for the rda? I add photo ;) [IMG]

This same act thing happens on both rdas? Same color? What is original color of juice? What ohms for each rda? What wattage are you running at? It could be a combination of things but I had had similar before due to the way the wicking happened, how much cotton I had and maybe the heat levels produced

Not sure what's up there. But I've vaped 30ml of Venom and it's never changed color like that. I've also used it on the zenith. My ohmsge was as low as about 0.8 or 1.0 but I didn't stay this low for long. Mostly vaped it I guess about 1.4 ohms. My zenith did come very very dirty. I even had to clean the the threads of the post screws because those were filthy. That might have something to do with it.

Hmm...seems your settings are just fine so it may be due to the wicking and carmelization or something along those lines....also, I've read somewhere that some mod's use cheaper plating and that can sometimes come off and show up as a color in the juice or wicks.

Yeah, I guess it could also be some foreign material somewhere in the RDA. I had one that had machine oil and ever since with any new RBA and RDA I dis-assemble, soak it in hot water and dish soap followed by more warm water and soapy toothbrush scrubbing, a hot water rinse and then a few hours in a vodka bath followed by final rinse and drying.

I think others here who have been building longer may have some better suggestions.

Sounds like you gave it a good thorough cleaning, so yeah that's not the source of your prob. Seems to get discoloured symmetrically in your pic - might be a clue. Definitely an odd prob. That flavour was quite sweet so maybe it has something to do with how it reacts with the heat from your sub-ohm coils - caramelization as you say.

    Numbers of possibilities.

    1. Caramelization from your juice, but i haven't faced this issue from juices yet.
    2. Your coils are getting old and needs to be replace
    3. Possible rust on your pillars, especially if you had your holes drilled out
    4. you have way to much cotton and it's not wicking fast enough and burning the cotton. Loosen up your wick and see if it disappears (goes without saying to change out your coil too just in case)

not in any particular order but i've had issue with an RDA where it was rusting on the inside and bleeding colors onto my cotton. I've also had problems when i didn't change my coils every other week or so i have the same color issue. Lastly, I build at around .18-.20ohms parallel microcoil on the 28 guage which requires a small drill bit and before i switch to organic japanese cotton my cotton couldn't wick it fast enough and that color shows up.
