Build your own mod competition/challenge 2018

I will challenge everyone here on the forum in 2018!

I have two left hands, but once want to make a mod myself that I can be very proud of and I challenge you to do the same!

Rules:
The body of the mod has to be handmade by yourself or by someone else, so no pre made bodies that you can buy from the internet.

You have to order the board yourself and solder everything together, so you cannot take an existing mod and just transfer everything into a new body.

We have to set a completion deadline and I was thinking at least 6 months from now but maybe you have another opinion because most parts have to be ordered abroad and that will take some time before they arrive here.

I would like to have at least 15 members here to join to make this an awesome event!

If this competition goes ahead it would be wonderful to have step by step photo updates of your build and tell about your frustrations, challenges and successes.

I think the most fair way to judge who made the most beautiful mod is to let all the members here on Thailand Vapers vote after the deadline.

Are there any prizes? No, only the recognition that you are the best modder at Thailand Vapers

Are Mech Squonkers or Mosfet Squonkers on the approved list?

I'm in the designing stage for those.

 

Maybe we have to do two categories?

1st category
Mechanical mods/squonkers and mosfet squonkers

2nd category
(Temperature control) board mods and regulated squonkers

I am open to all sugestions to have some fun designing some great mods here.

I have designs ready to go, but unfair to use them I think as ive been playing around with home design for years now.

I am just a very optimistic person! That's why I cannot believe why your name is not on that list yet!Maybe I should put it on there because I just know that you will join us!

I wouldn't have any problems with people already having designs ready.

As long as you don't have the finished product, like the body or a board with everything hooked up, already in stock.

I want that it will be a project that we can show here step by step how we made it and for others to enjoy at TV.

At the moment I don't have any parts or tools to make one and only the slightest idea what I want to make. That's why I want at least 6 months the time for us to make these mods so that we can have something that is really worth showing. I can even agree upon showing the finished product in December if that makes more members to join (feeling a big relief while writing this! LOL).

The funny thing is I am the only one that put my name on the list so far and I don't have any expierence making anything electronic. The only things that I can remember I ever made myself is a bird house and a hand puppet during boy scouts when I was 9 years old!

 

why not make it a community project, like producing that much as people want to join in, some person got this, the other that skill, sounds about right to me

 

I am sure that the members that will join are going to transfer ideas, solve problems and order parts together and let others build or solder things to help each other out.

I do think the end project/goal will be different because everyone has another opinion what they want to build and how it will look like.

Do I get extra bonus points if I build my own atty too?

 

Maybe we put "build your own atty" in for the next competition.
I first have to practice my glassblowing techniques for that and come to think of it maybe it is better to just give you some extra points for it so we can skip that competition!

Great to see that you are on board @fillmcavity Now we only have to convince some other members to join us so that we can get this competion started.
