1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

Dammit, the box mod bug bit me. I've narrowed it down to two different boxes: the Kung Fu mechanical box mod and the Storm V2. The Kung Fu is a dual battery unregulated beast, while the Storm is a dual battery regulated beast (180 watts! What the heck would I do with all that power?). I am asking for recommendations from the more experienced box mod users. I am not planning on going with tanks or ohms higher than 0.4

    Thanks guys!

If it was a case of choosing one or the other or facing a fate worse than a fate worse than death I'd probably still have to toss a coin.

The iStick 100 should be along soon, priced similarly, parallel, USB charging. It doesn't look too bad in black either and has a silicone sleeve available for it (I think).

Someone is bound to say how unreliable iSticks are so I will add that my 30 & 50 have been going strong since late January, early February.

Personally I have no interest in parallel 'unregulated' box mods. They vape similar to a tube but with twice the battery capacity. I'd rather change the battery and have a tube mod 66% smaller.

If you are not going to vape above 0.4ohms, then avoid the Kung Fu since it has a mosfet that will very probably fry below 0.5ohms.

I tried to look online for info on which mosfet they use, unfortunately I cannot find anything. It should be a 3034 with a 16k res if you want to go low. It's up to you to take the guess. If it's a different mosfet or if they did not put a resistor, you probably shouldn't put anything lower than a 0.5ohms coil on it.

As for the Storm V2, it has a voltage reader but I do not know if it displays the voltage you selected or the voltage it delivers in real time. The latest would be the best IMO.

Also note that even the Storm only reads down to 0.2ohms. And if that is very accurate, a 0.19ohms build won't fire... :/

I will personally go for the Storm, mainly for the voltage reader and the lack of Mosfet. I also like the fact that you can modify the voltage if for any reason, you need to put some other build on it, maybe just to try your friend's build or else.

The 0.2ohms is an inconvenience though, but the Mosfet on the Kung FU is a serious concern to me considering how low you like to vape. If it's the wrong mosfet and you screw a 0.2ohms build on it, you'll have 4 seconds to enjoy whatever vape it's giving you. After that, it's gonna be a 1,490thb unregulated 2x 18650....paper weight :)

Besides DD, if you're going to take the plunge for a box mod, might as well go whole hog for a regulated one!
Looking forward to the hand check!!

Looks like the Storm might be the way to go. I'll have to save up for it and also some new batteries!
